Reflection questions:
Compare and contrast. Read the various texts above and identify how they contrast the way of of the old self and the way of new life in Christ. What are the others-centered or self-centered behaviors of each?
What specific attitudes or behaviors from your old self- such as bitterness, anger, or pride are still hindering your walk with Christ? How can you begin to actively put them off and replace them with Christ-like character?
Do some honest self-examination. How many times in the last month have you acted selfishly or made selfish decisions? Once you identified them, reflect-what could you have done differently? What changes can you make for the future?
How are you intentionally living for Christ rather than for yourself? What changes in your priorities, time, or resources would reflect a life lived for His glory rather than your own? How is this reflected in the ways you live in community with other Christians?
